New Light Methodist Church in DeLand Florida started from humble beginnings… in a funeral
home, a memorial table for our altar displaying a handmade cross, and a Bob
Dylan CD to catch the wax from the candle. While we have grown in Spirit and in
numbers, we
remain a humble church, as we attribute our success to God. As an independent
church, we are accountable only to God in all decisions regarding missions,
programs, & ministries. Our theology is based upon the great Wesleyan
Methodist traditions. Our mission is to equip you with the tools you need to be
a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, that you “shall not walk in darkness, but
shall have the light of life”. If you have tried other churches in DeLand
and feel like something is missing, we invite you to join us at New Light. You
will find a
relaxed, friendly church with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. You will hear everyday, relevant
preaching right from the bible that you can use in your everyday life.
"An everyday faith for an everyday people"
STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe the Bible is the inspired,
authoritative Word of God. We believe there is one God, eternally
existent in three persons: Father, Son & Holy Spirit. We believe
in the deity of Jesus Christ, in his virgin birth, in his sinless life, in
his death on the cross, in his bodily resurrection, in his ascension to the
right hand of the father, and in his personal return. We believe
people receive forgiveness of sins and eternal life through a relationship
with Jesus.

Being a new church with no permanent building is not easy!
We hope to be able to provide the following soon:

ALL children of ALL ages are welcome in our service (yes, including
babies!). As pastor Rick says, the only thing worse than crying babies in
our church are no crying babies in our church! Please don't be afraid to
